Term sheets come from the program’s lending partners. Every credit decision is theirs.

Where GPU financing comes from

There are four main kinds of financing parties. The first two are hard to unlock if you’re still an emerging operator.

  • Private credit lenders

The biggest funds are out of reach for most new operators. Look for smaller firms that name technology as a key area.

  • Digital infrastructure lenders

The big banks and funds behind bridges, highways, and cell towers. Hard to qualify.

  • Crypto lenders

Crypto holders tired of low crypto yields, now looking to earn from AI infrastructure.

  • Equipment finance lessors

Bank-affiliated or independent firms that do asset-based lending and equipment leases. Operating leases are almost only found here.

What to expect

Down payment
Around 20-30% at close
Term
Usually your offtake length, 2-3 years for a new operator
Interest rate
7-15%, depending on your offtaker’s credit
Fee
About 1-3% of the loan, at closing

But what if...

  • I’m buying for on-demand or internal use?

Without offtake (a strong creditworthy customer contract), expect to show funding or capital of at least 150% of the project cost, put 50% of the cost into the purchase in cash, and show a history of raising from investors regularly.

  • I’ve never deployed a cluster?

Don’t know how to order hardware, get data center colocation space, or rack a cluster? We can help with that.

  • I’m an investor, not an operator?

We can arrange a managed deployment: bought under your name, operated for you. Ask your tax advisor what owning the hardware means for you. How managed deployments work

Loan or lease?

Either can work. A loan needs more equity and is the cheapest way to own the equipment. An operating lease needs less down, and the lessor keeps the equipment at the end of the term. Loans vs. leases

Program questions

Who is the program for?
Neoclouds and AI startups buying under $20M of GPU servers (U.S. preferred), with a signed customer lined up for the capacity.
What are the rates and terms?
Market rates, as given and not negotiated deal by deal. Terms usually match your customer contract, typically 2-3 years, and every deal uses the same documents.
How fast is it?
Days, not months. The criteria are fixed and the documents are standard, so once your paperwork is in there is nothing left to negotiate.
Who provides the financing?
Financing comes from American Compute’s lending partners. Every credit decision is theirs. American Compute is not a lender.
Can you finance a purchase order, before the servers are installed?
Yes. The program is built for purchases: the financing pays for the hardware order.
My deal is bigger, smaller, or doesn’t fit the criteria.
Apply anyway. We arrange bespoke GPU loans and leases outside the program, and we’ll tell you what’s missing. Program minimum is $500K, or $2.5M for New York borrowers.
