At 1.65x, the contract clears a 1.25x minimum. Its cash flow supports up to $4.50M of financing (93% of cost), though lenders also cap the advance, usually at 50-80% of cost. Breakeven is $3.08 per GPU-hour.

How lenders size a GPU loan
The advance rate and the contract's coverage each cap the loan; the lower one wins. The example: 8 B300 servers ($4.86M all-in) on a 36-month contract at $4.60 per GPU-hour.
- Advance rate
- Lenders cap the loan at 50-80% of equipment cost, depending on your credit and your customer. With 30% down the loan is $3.4M. At a 1.25x minimum the contract could carry $4.34M (89% of cost), so the advance rate is the limit.
- Debt service coverage
- The contract brings in $215K a month. After $35K of data center costs, $180K is left against a $113K payment: 1.59x coverage. Breakeven is $3.16 per GPU-hour; a 1.25x minimum needs $3.77.
- Contract price vs. rate
- A point off the rate saves $2K a month; ten cents more per GPU-hour brings in $5K. Who signs the contract matters as much: compute contract financing.
Lease residuals by GPU
An FMV lease is priced off what the servers will be worth when they come back, as a share of the original price. The calculator starts the FMV at each band's midpoint.
| GPU | New price, 8-GPU server | In 2028 | In 2029 | In 2030 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B300 | $550-650K | 37-50% | 28-39% | 12-21% |
| B200 | $450-500K | 30-42% | 16-26% | 6-11% |
| H200 | $340K | 24-35% | 7-15% | 4-6% |

GPU loan calculator questions
- What is the monthly payment on a GPU loan?
- On 8 B300 servers ($4.86M all-in), a 36-month loan at 12% with 30% down is about $113K a month, or $2.42 per GPU-hour across 64 GPUs.
- What DSCR do GPU lenders require?
- A minimum debt service coverage ratio of 1.15-1.25x is common: the contract's revenue, less data center costs, divided by the payment. The calculator defaults to 1.25x.
- How much cash do I need at closing?
- Your equity, plus a 1-3% fee and often about 3 months of payments for a debt service reserve. In the example that is $1.87M for the loan, against $1.08M for an FMV lease at 20% down. The program asks for 30% of the cost with a customer contract, and 50% without.
